Will Descaling Products Fix It?

My washing machine is already struggling — is it too late to help?
It depends on how much damage has already been done. If the element hasn't failed yet, switching to filtered water will stop further scale build-up and give the machine a significantly longer remaining lifespan. Does the under-sink RO system protect my washing machine from limescale?
No — the RO system only filters the dedicated drinking water tap under the sink. Your washing machine, dishwasher, and shower are still on unfiltered mains water.
